I thought I’d share how to search engine optimize a phpBB forum because
I just spent half the day researching how to do it myself.
I hope you find this helpful.
Lot’s of hair was pulled out searching for this information.
First you need to insert your keyword phrases in your “Title Tags”.
Little did I know how easy this is to do with PhpBB. 
I’m going to assume you already know how to research keywords for
your site.
Log-In to the phpBB Administrative Panel.
In the Administrative console on the left under “General Admin”
click “Configuration”.
Where it says “Site name”
That’s where you put your keyword rich title!
Also where it says “Site description”
There too.
Then just hit submit and phpBB will automatically insert your Title Tags
and sub-titles in all the pages.
Simple enough.
Next you need to add your meta tags. This requires a little more effort.

The phpBB community help forum is awesome. At the site above click on the
community icon at the top of the page. There you can register and
participate in discussions about phpbb.
I asked how to edit the “Title Tags” and within only minutes I had the
answer!
